The use of service robots has revolutionized the servicing work of buildings. The example of the Sydney Harbour Bridge with a steel surface of 485,000 m² shows, how robots can take over works, which is dangerous and harmful to human health. The centerpiece of the two sandblasting robots is in each case a SCHUNK LWA lightweight arm, which is shielded beneath a protective covering filled with compressed air. The robot is faster and more precise than a human being could ever be. In the meantime, they are the standard equipment of the servicing team. An extension to other industrial constructions and requirements is planned.
